La Paz, the City of Peace, was the first European settlement in Baja. For us it provides a pleasant
locale for a mid-cruise break. We explored the colorful stores and markets and dined at a flower-banked
patio restaurant where 40 pesos ($4) bought a 3-course feast. The city is now a thriving metropolis,
very changed from the quiet little place my husband I first visited in the early 1980's when we
camped along these beaches.
